Do you have any CFL special memories/ achievements?

I suffered a disc injury in my neck in 2013 that needed surgery and knocked me out of training for 9 months. When I joined CFL I had just started working out again and was out of shape. The first time I was able to break my old PR in the Filthy 50 by 10 seconds was a huge achievement for me.

What advice would you give to a newbie just joining CrossFit Logan?

Don’t be afraid to scale, nobody is judging, but also don’t be afraid to push yourself. Log your lifts and your times but don’t worry about what everyone else put on the whiteboard – you’re only competing against your previous self. (That sounds too much like something from Tumblr so compete against Elliot and Rose too)

When did you start doing CrossFit?

Spring of 2012

Favorite WOD?

Grace or Filthy 50

Least favorite WOD?

Any WOD involving running of any distance

Favorite Lift?

Bench Press and Bicep Curls – I have to bro out sometimes

Least favorite lift?

It’s like asking a parent which is their least favorite child. I guess I’ll go with Front Squats

Tell us a little bit about yourself?

I would but I’m running late to class, again. I’ve stocked up on dry erase markers since I’m consistently late to class and want to avoid the burpee penalty.

What were you doing before CrossFit?

Lifting heavy, playing basketball, and swimming

What were your thoughts after your first CrossFit workout?

I’m going puke but I’m absolutely coming back tomorrow

What were your goals when joining CrossFit?

Strengthen my Olympic lifts and be less fat.

Have you achieved any of these goals?

I’ve definitely strengthened my oly lifting and I’m a little less fat

How has CrossFit affected your life outside of the gym?

It’s made it a lot harder to buy pants – if the waist fits then they are way too small in the leg/thigh. I have to have all my pants tailored to fit.

I also have a lot more energy during the day.
