When did you start doing CrossFit?
I started in 2012 and took about a six month break before starting at Logan when it opened in October 2013
What was your fitness routine before CrossFit?
After playing rugby in college I got real lazy, so I eventually started running 5ks on the treadmill at Bally’s and tinkering around on the weight machines..nothing heavy or consistent.
Air Force WOD!!! I *love* all the heavy lifts and the burpees challenge me. It was one of the first wood’s i ever did and didn’t come close to finishing in the 20 minute time cap, six months later I killed it.
Least Favorite WOD?
Griff-I can’t run backwards without falling on my butt.
OHS all day baby. Snatch is a close second, actually, they are pretty much equal as my favorite.
Least favorite lift and why?
Strict Press- I want to use my legs!!!
What were your goals when joining CrossFit? And have you achieved any of these goals?
My goal is always to be healthier. I am healthier than when I rejoined CrossFit in October., but i still have a long way to go. Specifically, a 150 lbs clean and jerk has been a long time goal of mine, I recently got reavery close with 145..it’s coming soon I can feel it.
What is your favorite CrossFit memory or most memorable CrossFit moment?
Getting my first unassisted pull up at my old box was a great feeling and Im looking forward to getting back there soon.
Do you have any CrossFit rituals or superstitions?
I wear my wrist wraps for everything, they are my security blanket.
How has CrossFit affected your life outside of the gym?
Wodding can change my day completely, I can walk in tired and stressed and walk out with energy and determination.
What advice would you give to a newbie just joining CrossFit?
Stick with it! (and buy new shoes, new shoes make everything more fun).
